Bedrooms are one place where the warmth, coziness and soundproofing of a rug is especially desirable. With fewer furnishings to contend with, you can feel freer to experiment with color or a lively pattern. The design of a bedroom often lends itself to using accent rugs, runners, or a round rug, but a room-size rug will work beautifully too. Just keep in mind that the priority for most people is making sure your feet touch rug when getting out of bed in the morning (which generally means allowing at least 18 inches of rug on each side of the bed).
