Jute and Bamboo Rugs

New Jute & Bamboo-Viscose Rugs
Meet two new yarns in our summer 2016 rug collection, bamboo-viscose and jute. Both are perfect compliments to our existing hand-tufted and hand-hooked wool rugs, and allow us to offer more design options to a wider range of customers across the country.

We incorporate bamboo viscose into our rugs because of the shine and luster the thick hand-spun yarns bring to our designs.  Easily saturated with dye, bamboo viscose accentuates robust colors and texture.  The look is silky soft, sumptuous…and dressy.  Like a cashmere sweater or silk blouse, our bamboo viscose rugs are more luxurious than “every day” and not intended for the entry or kitchen.  These statement pieces define the special spaces in your home, and accent your most elegant pieces.  Thick hand-spun yarns and an extra-heavy canvas backing prevent shedding and ensure your room always looks well dressed.

  • Vacuum regularly and do not use a beater bar.  Respond quickly to spills.  Spot clean gently, but firmly, with a mild cleaning solution of one teaspoon mild liquid detergent mixed with one cup lukewarm water.  DO NOT SCRUB.  Begin from the edge of the stain and work your way in using a soft white cloth.  Blot the spot until it has disappeared.  Bamboo will absorb water, so allow added time to air dry.  Professional carpet cleaning recommended. Should long ends of yarn appear on surface, do not pull. Use scissors to trim yarns evenly with rug surface.

Don’t confuse our hand-spun jute rugs with a scratchy door mat!  We developed our hand-hooked jute rugs for those who do not want the heavy feel of a thick wool rug.  The yarn’s shimmer is emphasized in natural light making our jute collection perfectly at home in any part of the country.  Naturally stronger than wool, jute is a great choice for all your dry, high-traffic areas, and is resilient to shedding.
